Special Notice to CA Residents

The California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”) imposes certain obligations on businesses and allows California residents to make certain requests to a business regarding the personal information that the business maintains.  Specifically, under the CCPA, you have the right:

  • To request that we disclose to you the Personal Information we collect, use, or disclose, and information about our data practices (the “right to know”); and
  • To request that we delete your Personal Information that we have collected from you (the “right to deletion”).

To exercise either of these rights, please send a request.  We may need to verify your identification before processing your request.  Note that if we sold data about you, you would have the right to opt-out of that sale, but Koha Health does not sell your personal information.

It is important to note, however, that the CCPA does not apply to all businesses or to all personal information.  For example, CCPA does not apply to “protected health information” collected by covered entities or business associates pursuant to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”) and the rules issued under HIPAA by the Department of Health and Human Services.  As such, CCPA typically will not apply to Conifer Health’s collection and handling of personal information.
