It’s about passion and drive

Family-owned businesses are the backbone of the American economy, and Koha Health, originally Physicians Resources LTD, originated from those same roots. For almost 40 years Koha Health has been focused on building a successful revenue cycle management company with an impressive roster of partnerships across New England. But the most successful teams are rarely complacent, and often driven by “what comes next.” At the intersection of achievement and innovation is the genesis of Koha Health.

Today, Koha Health is led by President and Chief Executive Officer Brian Hall, a member of the original family that started it all. Over the last few years, Brian has been driven to lead and nurture a company culture that is unlike any other in the industry. As the culture became a driving force in developing and delivering Koha’s solutions, the Koha team was drawn to working with clients that mirrored their values and had that same spark for loving what they do and who they do it with.

With culture and a comprehensive solution suite in place, it was time to sharpen the industry focus and launch a strategic national expansion.

Brian Hall

Brian Hall

President & CEO

As CEO of Koha Health, Brian Hall leverages 30 years of experience to lead and nurture a company culture that is unlike any other in the industry. Brian has a growth mindset, and as an impassioned entrepreneur and visionary, he is always thinking about what is next. He challenges the status quo and norms in healthcare and develops Innovative solutions and services that can disrupt the system and help our clients reach their goals.  
  
Brian is a natural born leader who believes that building culture and personal relationships with both clients and employees is the key to success. Leading by example, Brian encourages the entire Koha team to live by an abundance mindset and freely share knowledge and information both inside and outside the company.  
  
Brian has cemented community at the core of Koha’s identity, and as such, he has set a personal goal of altruism that is backed up by his active participation with numerous non-profits as well as a corporate goal for Koha to give 1% of our revenue back to our communities. 
  
As energetic and hard charging in his personal life as he is in his professional life, Brian actively seeks challenges and often steps outside of his comfort zone. His love of travel has allowed him to learn about other countries and cultures, step off the beaten path, challenge his senses, and push his limits – including getting up close and personal with wildlife. A committed volunteer, Brian has rappelled down an 8-story building to help raise funds, volunteered In a small community In the jungles of Belize, and spent several weeks In Sri Lanka learning about the culture and exploring their tremendous national parks and wildlife.

Chris Fay

Chris Fay

Chief Information Officer

As Chief Information Officer, Chris Fay leads with a team approach to ensure that every technology or process created or introduced at Koha Health has scalability, ease of use, vetting from appropriate departments, and considers cost in the decision-making process. Chris is adamant about the importance of thinking as opposed to “just doing.” As a lead by example kind of guy, he encourages his team to challenge each other, themselves, and especially him. He values honesty, respect, and authenticity. It is his belief that all of these elements together result in innovative thinking and superior performance. A graduate of University of New Hampshire, Chris has a rich history in IT consulting. 

Chris is proud to be a father first and foremost and prioritizes time with family. An athletic competitor by nature, he is an achiever who enjoys challenging himself to be better physically and mentally. Fun fact: Chris is attempting to play as many of the top US (and some international) golf courses as possible.

Liz Urdahl

Liz Urdahl

VP of Client Success and Implementation

Liz focuses on building and promoting our client relationships and developing strong partnerships. Prior to joining Koha, Liz started her career as an administrative fellow at Beaumont Royal Oak following completion of the MHA degree at the University of Iowa. After completing the fellowship, Liz returned to Iowa and worked for MediRevv in progressive leadership roles for the next 10 years. Liz's roles were in the areas of Client Services/Success, Implementation, Operations and Process Improvement; all within the revenue cycle services space. A few highlights of her career include developing processes for internal operations - such as patient pay technology and best practice, creating and standardizing a Client Services/Success program, and maintaining and improving critical client relationships. These areas had to grow with a high pace company that grew from $25 million to $130 million during her tenure. Most of all, Liz's passion is around building strong teams and helping many individuals grow into their roles and talents.

Dee Rountree

VP of Client Experience

Dee Rountree leads with integrity, compassion, and kindness as VP Client Experience at Koha Health. She is passionate about developing long lasting relationships and enriching the lives of the people she meets. She is particularly driven to create memorable experiences for our people, our clients, and our communities by ensuring expectations are set and met, and we are always doing ‘the right thing’ in the moment. 

Dee is particularly adept at identifying with other’s emotions and wanting to help. Her approach of practicing gratitude and spreading an abundance mentality is perfectly aligned with the meaning of Koha. She is also a proponent of idea exchange and thought leadership and is proud of her work supporting related events for revenue cycle leaders. 

Dee studied Organizational Leadership and Management at Regent University and values the “real-world" lessons learned from experiences at organizations including Tegria (FKA MediRevv), Vitera (now Greenway Health), and Memorial Health University Medical Center. Her first passion is her role of mom and grandmother. She is a woman of many talents and co-owns a boutique bakery, is a paddle board enthusiast, and loves all things beach and ocean.

Altner, Pam

Pam Altner

Director of Coding, Compliance, and Education

With nearly 30 years in the industry, Pam is responsible for leading our Coding Department. She has developed a unique set of skills through her various experiences in healthcare that make her an exceptional coding leader and mentor. Pam’s clinical roots makes her interactions with providers both productive and interactive. Her ability to analyze clinical records along with her keen knowledge of coding and billing regulations helps her and her team maintain our client’s compliance and maximize reimbursement. Her credentials include Certified Professional Coder, Certified Orthopedic Specialty Coder, and Certified Professional Medical

Sappet, Stef

Stefenie Sappet

Director of RCM

Stefenie has over 15 years of experience in healthcare with a focus on revenue cycle management and currently has responsibility for over 125 providers. She has deep expertise in work-flow improvement, technology utilization, and RCM optimization. She is a trusted strategic advisor and consultant for our clients on the constantly changing healthcare landscape.  Stef has her AS in Healthcare Management from UMass Lowell.

Yazbek, Gail

Gail Yazbek

Director of Contracting & Credentialing

Gail has been with Koha Health for over 18 years in a range of supporting roles, and currently served as Director of People Success.

Previously, she was responsible for developing and implementing our credentialing and contracting service department.  She oversaw credentialing and enrollment activities for over 250 physicians. This included developing and maintaining workflows, processes, performance metrics, and management tools for performance excellence. In addition, Gail maintained great working relationships with our clients, provider organizations,  and affiliated insurance companies.

Elise Estes

Elise Estes

Director of Client Engagement

Elise’s primary responsibility includes providing operational oversight and workflow improvements.  In addition, she has responsibility for our patient experience, coding, charge and payment reconciliation, denial management and revenue integrity teams. Elise has been responsible for implementing, overseeing and reconciling our robust e-pay and mobile pay solutions. She leverages her 10 plus years of RCM operation experience to improve outcomes and coordinate with our account executives to ensure our clients maximize their results.
